Relation to Novel: Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World," in lines 13 and 19-21 invisions the image of children growing up in the world and learning. Armstrong envisions children learning more and more as they grow up. Armstrong wrote this song in a tone that brings peace and also gives his audience a mental image to help them see the world in a different point of view.
Victor also had the same envisionment when he tries to show his dad that whatever field he chooses to study in will lead him to success and he will try his best to accomplish the task of learning different things and he wants to ensure he wont "fail at his chosen area of study". Victor chose human body study but never had any help because "My father was not scientific, and i was left to struggle with a child's blindness, added to a student's thirst for knowledge" (26). This does not mean that Victor was blind physically, it just means he had no help in his studies and no one in his family ever offered to help or support him. The lines Armstrong suggests relates that children will learn whether its similar to Victor, on their own, or learn by others in their life time. |
