Creation
Savanna Patton
Creation is a very ambigious topic,Whether it be a disscussion of God, science, or even birth. Scientists in todays time wants to create life using science, but religious groups do not agree. The different religious groups believe in God or some other powerful being creating life, and think that should not be tampered with. In Mary Shelly's, Frankenstein or the Modern Prometheus that is a big Issue. Victor Frankenstein is educated in science, and he is wanting to create life, "I began the creation of a human being" (Shelley 39). Victor only wanted to play around with science and create something, but a human being? The only problem is how would society take this new creature and how would they take to Victor using "animation upon lifeless matter" (Shelley 40). What if someone created something that was not accepted, or in other words a monster. Victor himself thought he created a monster, "Now that I finished, the beauty of the dream vanished, and breathless horror and disgust filled my heart (Shelley 43). Someone cannot just destroy the life they created, that would lead to abortion which is a gigantic issue.
